“Moron of the Week” – Bev Perdue

Mom told me not to say nothing if I didn’t have anything nice to say (I know, a little late since I alrady called Perdue a moron).  So, I’ll just say this and let you go read the link – Perdue cuts funding for the disabled!  Told ya she is a moron.

Too good to not share

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950′s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorc e. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU… Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We’ll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We’ll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO’s and re dnecks. We’ll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we’ll help provide them security.

We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We’ll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We’ll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We’ll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute Imagine, I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We’ll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we’ll keep our history, our name and our f lag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I’ll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall
Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

Charles Schumer is a moron

Charles Schumer is a moron and apparently he is not alone. When I heard the N.Y. senator say that the American people do not care about pork
Schumer Pork Comment
my first reaction was just what I said…he’s a moron. I went so far as to send him an email stating that there is at least one American that does care. I presumed I was not alone in this and I am certain still that I am not.

However after Mr. Obama’s address to a joint congress yesterday, this morning’s polls indicate that Schumer is not alone. There are apparently millions of Americans that share in Mr. Schumer’s moronism. CBS reported a jump in their approval rating from 62% to 69% after the address and CNN reported a 68% approval rating in their poll. So is Schumer actually right? I think I have witnessed the last inkling of faith I had that half the American people will wake up and see the blatantly obvious lies, vanish into thin air. Which is precisely where we will get the money to pay for the $30 million dollar rat preservation that is not an earmark ‘pork’ in the stimulus plan. You see I refuse to call a recovery act because it is anything but.

Half of Americans’ president can stand up on capital hill on National television and preach fiscal responsibility proclaiming we inherited a one trillion dollar deficit while not on his watch. That part is true, the fact it took over 100 years to accumulate that deficit is the part that was conveniently left out. So how does he suggest we fix it, by doubling it! He has managed to persuade all the democratic Senators and three Republican Senators to spend one trillion dollars in a little over thirty days on a stimulus bill full of earmarks. If you are not angry you are A) a moron B) a socialist or C) a moron. Preaching fiscal responsibility after this Obamanation is hypocrisy at it’s finest.

He campaigned on a platform of no special interest pet projects, no earmarks, no pork and fiscal responsibility. And out of all he said last night I did not once hear how this stimulus bill will create one single job. Instead he began prepping us for the next Omnibus spending bill, which according to the congressional budget office is 8% higher than any previous Omnibus bill. Is it me or does anyone else feel like maybe we should be concentrating on spending less, not more. Of course that presumes the folks on Capital Hill understand how to apply logic when figuring out how to resolve a problem….never mind.

Mr. Obama has succeeded in only one thing so far in his fledgling term as POTUS…pushing a radical agenda (i.e. bringing the Census under control of the whitehouse and creating ‘czars’  Demcrat Sen. Byrd calls Czars Dangerous , spending in thirty days what took over 100 yrs. to spend prior, and keeping the morons on board his boat sailing straight for socialism. So the fact that Schumer may be right does not less a moron make, it only affirms he is part of an ever growing peer group sailing in the sea of moronity.

Wake Up Damn It

I can’t for the life of me understand why the public at large isn’t screaming about the freedomsthat Obama and his crazies are attempting to wrestle away from us.  Come on people, open your eyes, read a freaking newspaper, WAKE UP!

The great savior of our nation (yes, EXTREME sarcasm there) went on TV to lament the passing of our nation if the so-called stimulus package wasn’t passed immediately.  There was a unanimousdecision to post the gargantuan piece of legislation on the Internet for 48 hours for all of America to see before there was to be a vote.  What happened?  It was posted at midnight (when many citizens would have gone to bed already) and the voting began roughly at nine the next morning.  Nine hours, in the middle of the night, to read over 1,000 pages of the largest debt increase in American history!  Not one of those voting read it in it’s entirety.  Why the rush to vote?  Obama had no intention of signing it before today so why shove it down our throats before it can even be read?  The answer is there are items that have no business being in that package and, upon further scrutiny, would likely to have had to be removed from it before the junk could be passed.  Ok, by now you’re asking what about the freedoms you mentioned earlier Steve.  I’ll tell you.

Buried in the package is verbage that will allow the government to start determining what treatments you should get at the doctor’s office:  The determinations of the board will directly impact which medical treatments the federal government will or will not pay for. House Appropriations Chairman Rep. David Obey (D., Wis.) indicated that drugs and treatments “that are found to be less effective and in some cases, more expensive, will no longer be prescribed.”   That bothers some observers, who believe the council may at some point prevent patients from receiving the medical procedures they need because of cost.  Critics of the council say this type of research should be conducted within the private sector to ensure the personal freedom of patients to choose the healthcare options that — in the opinion of their medical providers — best meets their needs. The health-related provisions take a sharp turn toward greater government control over our healthsector, without any hearings or serious debate in Congress and without telling the American people what the changes would mean for their personal healthcare,” write William Winkenwerder, Jr. and Grace-Marie Turner in an article on National Review Online.

It doesn’t stop there.  There is also the fairness doctrine.  The dems are basically going to try and control what is said on the airwaves; there must be equal time given to opposing sides.  CRAP!  If it’s my station, don’t tell me what I have to play.  The left is back on this kick again because they failed miserably in their attempt with Air America.  That is fair – you had a chance just like the right and you failed.  To be more fair, we’ll let you try again, just leave our stations alone.

There is one more – the census.  Now, Obama is pushing that whomever is assigned the title of Census Bureau Director “will work closely with the White House.”  Why?    The census is used to apportion congressional districts among the states.  The director should be completely independent of the White House and continue to fall under the control of the Department of Commerce.

Wake up folks – you thought us conservative types were just blowing smoke when the term socialism was used in the election.  Obama has only been in office about a month.  Socialism is here.

Different Planets

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham from SC said it best when “debating” the stimulus (read spending) package on the floor yesterday.  In a reply to Democratic Senator Richard Durbin from Illinois, Graham said the following: “If you believe this is a good process, to spend $800 billion, we are on different planets”.

In making a point about the unchecked spending in the package, Graham supplied the example of COBRA and insurance payments.  The highlight of his example was does it make sense to pay 65% of a CEO’s health care costs if that CEO is worth $20,000,000.  He’s right, it doesn’t.  After making this point he was interrupted by the pompous ass Barbara Boxer, yes a Democrat, from California.  The exchange went as follows:

Sen. Barbara Boxer [D-CA]: Would the Senator yield for a question?

Sen. Lindsey Graham [R-SC]: Yes.

Sen. Barbara Boxer [D-CA]: Mr. President, I think it is amazing that the Senator is holding up a bill–holding up a bill. Very theatrical. Did you ever do that when George Bush was President and he sent down a bill twice as big as that? Did the Senator ever do that? Because you can do that. That is theatrical. You can do that.

Sen. Lindsey Graham [R-SC]: Mr. President, I will put my ability to speak my mind to my party up against anybody, including you, Senator. I have been on this floor many times arguing with the past administration about policies I disagreed with. I don’t recall you doing that a lot, but I don’t question your motives as to why you are doing what you are doing.

I am here today—-

Sen. Barbara Boxer [D-CA]: Will the Senator yield?

Sen. Lindsey Graham [R-SC]: No, it is my time.

Did she add anything constructive to the debate – No.  Did she even begin to answer his concerns about the CEO having his insurance paid -No; she simply took a second to attempt to disparage any remarks he may have concerning the bill.  I was glad to see that he didn’t yield to her again, it was obvious she wasn’t there to debate at all.  It seems to be the new mantra of the party on the left.  As Pelosi has already informed the country that “Yes, we wrote the bill. Yes, we won the election.”   To be fair, however, let us not forget that our fair President gave the same basic message “I won”.

There presently is no debating.  The dems are convinced that theirs is the only voice that counts.  Lastly, Obama on numerous occasions has made the statement to the effect that he “inherited” this financial mess.  I agree, sort of.  He leaves out the FACT that the housing market caused this debacle and that it was led by dems who once again couldn’t wait to provide a handout to people.  It was a handout regardless of what you think.  If you make $20k a year, you damn sure should not be buying a house for $200k.  I’ll save the rest for another post!

What’s wrong with “Buy American”?

First, let me say thanks, and congrats, to the owners of this new blog; thanks for allowing me to contribute my thoughts from time to time and congrats on taking the bold steps into the realm of politics – it can be ugly.

Now, what’s wrong with Buy American – not a damn thing – unless you’re going to let those overseas and around the world dictate what verbiage you can put into your own stimulus package.  There was a rider in the package that essentially limited, or even barred, imports that could be purchased from foreign companies if the same materials could be purchased from companies here in the USA.  My first reaction is, of course, a knee jerk reaction – to hell with all of them – buy American or don’t buy at all.  Of course, this is a little tricky.  We, the USA, have signed on with numerous treaties and free trade agreements; some of them good and some just miserable failures (another post on another day).

As soon as this rider was exposed to the public, many governments around the world got in a huff and started denouncing it as the worst that could happen to the world economy.  I think they are mistaken and are really just concentrating on the short term.  If we, and for that matter the world, do not start “Buying American”, there will be no world economy.  For better or worse, as America goes, so goes the rest of the world.  That is not being an egotistical American, it is just factual.  I do not have the answer for making other governments happy with this, maybe it is as simple as having a time-line, or a mark that we are shooting for, that once reached, we can then rescind the “Buy American” rider.

I do know that if we do not recover soon, the world can forget the handouts and charity money that the USA has been gladly giving out since it began.  Anyone can investigate and find that America is the most generous country in the world.  That being said, if the most generous country in the world is saying “Buy American”, it is not because we have suddenly become self-centered or selfish; it is for a damned good reason.

The people have elected Obama.  He has a lot on his shoulders but he knew that going in.  He, and the other elected officials have to do what is right for us here at home, in America.  If that means restricting imports and exports with a “Buy American” rider then so be it.  If it has come to that, then put it on paper and stand behind it – do not let other governments determine what should be in our stimulus package.

Isn’t the Campaign Over!?

As I walked away from Mr. Obama’s address to the Dem Caucus, which broke my regular programming as ‘breaking news’, I was left with a feeling of Deja Vu. Is it October again I thought to myself? Did I just witness a speech given on the campaign trail in 08′? Au contraire, it was your newly elected President addressing the Dem Caucus with what can only be described as a Political Pep Rally in an effort to garner support for this joke of a stimulus bill coming up for vote. A bill penned primarily by none other than the most worthless use of desk space in the House of Representatives – Nancy Pelosi. This is a bill that would stimulate nothing more than an increasing reliance on our overextended government by the dependent masses and lay the resulting burden directly on the taxpaying American’s shoulders.

‘Why a Pep Rally?’ you say….Mr. Obama was after all addressing the Dem Caucus and surely he has no one to win over there. To that I say…it was BREAKING NEWS and it was being aired during Prime Time TV on a Thursday night. So what is my point, he was trying to win over none other than YOU not the Caucus. That speech was as useful, to the Caucus in Williamsburg  last night, as a mower is on a houseboat. And worse, his efforts to win you over was like being Bill Murray on Gobbler’s Knob watching Pucksatony Phil day after day.

You see Mr. Obama chose to interrupt regular scheduled programming to reiterate nothing more than the same rhetoric he used to win the office of POTUS. The first comment that jumped out at me was, and I paraphrase ‘we can not rely on the same tired policies for a stimulus plan that have failed us over past eight years’ . Mr. Obama, rather than coming out and explaining how the plans’ nearly one trillion dollar price tag is going to help revitalize our ever weakening economy, chose to go on the offensive spewing the same partisan garbage that got him elected. Please, for the love of God, I just want him to explain how he thinks this bill will help to stimulate our economy and put the partisan political junk behind him. After all that is the promise of transparency (obviously more garbage), and of hope and change, he so readily professed as he persuaded millions of Americans (for the record not me) into voting for him. After all we are not blue or red, we are American right?

I’ll be the first first to say that we need some kind of plan to stimulate our economy, just not this one. Moreover let me state that I do not think this is a ‘pork barrel’ spending bill set out to benifit special interest…well not entirely. I rather label this a BIG Gov’t spending bill (i.e. Socialism at its best, but I will save that for a latter post) so don’t label me a right wing crazy because I am anything but. I just want Mr. Obama to put some body in THAT SUIT, have some bipartisan debate and input into the bill,  and prove to me it ISN’T JUST THE EMPTY ONE IT RESEMBLES.
